Whilst growing up in a mining community, Edward’s main interests
were painting and football. After leaving school at 15 Edward Tibbs
went on to study sculpture, pottery, fine art and graphics at Newcastle
College of Art – where he won a National Design Bursary to study
in Italy. After working as a graphic designer and illustrator for over
30 years – during which he was presented with a National Rose
Award for Design – Edward Tibbs retired in 2002. Now, with the
opportunity to devote more time to painting, his desire is to capture
a moment of expression or movement – bringing life and character
into his work.Since 2003 Edward Tibbs had held various exhibitions throughout
the UK and his work can be found in many private collections.
