The loveable Whimseycollies
were dreamed up by Yorkshire artist Leslie Simpson in 2003 after a lifetime
of traditional painting.
The proud owner of three border collies – Fly, May and Meg –
Leslie decided to throw caution to the wind and paint what he likes,
in the shape of the world’s brainiest dog.
In between his duties as Director of the
British Society of Painters and organising the BSP’s quarterly
exhibitions, Leslie likes nothing better than getting out his paintbrush
and easel and creating a new Whimseycollie picture.
And the public certainly seems to agree, for no sooner has Leslie finished
a painting than it’s snapped up by an eager Whimseycollies fan.
